Joe Hart coy on Man City future after Steaua Bucharest win

Joe Hart remained tight-lipped on his future after playing what could be his last game for Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Hart made his first start of the season as City advanced to the group stage of the Champions League with a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucharest and 6-0 victory on aggregate.

However, with Claudio Bravo set to complete his move from Barcelona this week, Hart could well be moved on by the club come the end of the transfer window.

“We all know there’s a situation going on,” Hart told BT Sport. “It’s a situation — you know, we’ve got a top manager who the club have wanted for a long time.

“But I feel that inside — outside of all the circus — we’re handling it well as a good team with a good management staff. Outside all the charades and all the rubbish that’s talked, we’ll find a solution. It’s not for me to say what it is [next for me].”

Hart, who captained City on the night, was the subject of plenty of chants at the Etihad Stadium, with the home supporters paying tribute to the goalkeeper ahead of his potential move away from the club.

Fans chanted for the club to keep Hart, who admitted it was an emotional night for him.

“Yeah it does [bring a lump to the throat]. It’s a special place for me, it’s a place I love to be, but we’re men and we get on with it,” he said.

“That was a really special night for me. I’ve had a lot of good nights in football but it was a really nice night.”

Hart, who looks to have fallen out of favour with City boss Pep Guardiola due to his ability with the ball at his feet, finished the game with a 100 percent pass completion rate.

“Well, pigs do fly, don’t they?” Hart joked.

Guardiola did not say Hart’s time is up at the club, though he did hint that could be the case.

“I know that Joe is a legend, I know how important he is to this club. He’s part of the history,” Guardiola told BT Sport.

“He knows when I arrived, my decisions, what I think about that [goalkeeping position].”

Guardiola added that Bravo is edging closer to a move to City, saying: “It’s almost there.”
