Federal University lafia sacks four, demote one over employment scam
The Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State has sacked four of its workers and demoted one for allegedly engaging in an employment scam. It also dismissed the individuals that were offered illegal appointment by the errant members of staff.

The university in a statement on Sunday by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim, stated that the Governing Council of the institution approved the termination of appointments of the staff.

The dismissed workers include Taiwo Kehinde, Clement Usoro-Jackson, Usman Anas and Ahmed Muhammed-Abdulazeez, while Apeshi Salihu-Abubakar was demoted from administrative assistant to executive officer.

It said the council carefully and objectively deliberated on the recommendation of the disciplinary committee before taking the action.

The statement read, “The council gave the approval when its members recently met to consider the report of the staff ‘disciplinary committee’ which was established to look into cases of illegal employment of staff.

“Salihu-Abubakar was demoted for his role in facilitating illegal employment while the dismissed staffs were found guilty of extortion of money to offer illegal employment in the university.”
