FIFA Ranking: Nigeria drops as Germany replace Brazil at the top

This month FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking shows that the Super Eagles of Nigeria drop from it 38th spot with 716 point to 44th in the world with 698 point.
However the Super Eagles who defeated Cameroon at home and got it a draw in Yaoundé in Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers displaced the Cameroonian of their 5th position in Africa, while Tunisia also replace DR Congo on the 2nd spot in Africa.
Cape Verde Island who defeated South Africa both home and away in the qualifiers were the biggest mover by point and ranks, moving up with 264 point and 47 ranks to 64 spot in the world.
Egypt maintains its 1st spot in Africa with Tunisia, Senegal, DR Congo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Côte D’Ivore and Morocco on the top 10 respectively.
Germany returned to the summit of the ranking, continuing this year’s ongoing tug-of-war with Brazil for top spot.
The reigning world champions edged ahead of A Seleção following two impressive FIFA World Cup qualifying victories over Czech Republic and Norway, and head a table much changed after the recent Russia 2018 preliminaries.
Belgium, for example, have climbed four places to enter the top five on the back of qualifying for next year’s finals. Portugal, for their part, are up three to third.
The top 10 spot have no new entry with Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, France, Chile and Colombia respectively.
